In The Community
Helping the People of Virginia Since 1979
At Breit Biniazan, we’re proud to support our Virginia neighbors in need—and we understand how even one small act of kindness or charity can have a powerful impact on entire communities.
Below you’ll find a summary of just a few of the organizations we’re proud to support. If you know of a worthy charity or cause that isn’t on the list, please get in touch with us to discuss sponsorship options.
Boys and Girls Club of Virginia Beach
The vision of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The club provides members with dynamic programs focused in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Education & Career.
Together, they encompass our three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character & Leadership, and Healthy Lifestyles. The programs enable a holistic approach to youth development that encourages healthy habits, self-esteem, and helps develop independence and interpersonal skills. Breit Biniazan is proud to be actively involved with this organization with both monetary support and hands-on volunteers.
Virginia Beach Crime Solvers
The Virginia Beach Crime Solvers is a citizen-based program that works in partnership with the public, the Virginia Beach Police Department, businesses and the news media. The purpose of the program is to raise funds to pay anonymous rewards and to create public awareness of our anonymous web, text and tip lines that help to solve crimes and result in a safer city and improved quality of life for all. Breit Biniazan is proud to provide funding to support the important efforts of this program and sponsor an annual Top Cops Award program. Our very own Mike Carey, Chief Investigator, currently serves on the Board of Directors as Vice Chairman.
Greater Hampton Roads Crime Line
The Greater Hampton Roads Regional Crime Lines is a non-profit charitable organization that helps fight crime in our region. Since 2000, this organization has gathered to honor local law enforcement officers, individuals, corporations and organizations that have helped make our community a safer place to live and work through its Top Cop Awards program. In addition to honoring our officers, the program also raises revenue to provide the 1-888-LOCK-U-UP telephone service for the regional programs which are supported solely through contributions from private sources and receive no tax dollars. Our very own Mike Carey, Chief Investigator, also serves on the Board of Directors of GHRCL as Vice Chairman.
Oceans of Success
Oceans of Success is an annual program sponsored by Breit Biniazan that is held at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Museum. The program honors local elementary school students who have greatly improved their academic performance throughout the school year. These third, fourth and fifth graders’ special day includes a tour of the aquarium, hands-on learning activities and a 3-D movie. After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19, we were excited to welcome students back for this special event.
VB Tragedy Fund
The VB Tragedy Fund was created after the senseless shooting that occurred on May 31, 2019 at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center. The City of Virginia Beach partnered with United Way to create a fund for the victims. One hundred percent of the donations collected in this United Way fund will go to the families affected. Briet Biniazan has gladly given our time and resources to support these efforts including a $10,000 firm donation. Jeffrey Breit will be overseeing the fund for the United Way to ensure that the money raised is distributed appropriately to the victims’ families. For more information please visit https://unitedwayshr.org/vabeach/.
Attorney Jeffrey Breit spoke to WAVY News 10 about the importance of helping the 4 injured victims of the Virginia Beach shooting.
Communities in Schools
In the U.S., approximately 1 in 5 children under the age of 18 live in poverty, shouldering more than they should have to. Communities In Schools works directly inside schools, building relationships that empower students to succeed inside and outside the classroom. For 25 years, Communities In Schools (CIS) of Chesterfield has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for Chesterfield County students and families in need. When it comes to making sure children get exactly what they need to succeed in school and in life, they never give up! Breit Biniazan has been proud to partner with CIS of Chesterfield. Recently we provided bicycle helmets at Back to School nights and taught kids about the importance of protecting their heads from injury.
Supporting Our Local Police
At Breit Biniazan, we feel strongly about supporting our local police departments and recognizing them for a job well done. One way we do this is by sponsoring the local Tidewater Virginia State Police annual holiday party. We also sponsor the Greater Hampton Roads Crime Line Annual Top Cop Awards dinner and are involved in some of the local charity golf tournaments.
The entire staff at Breit Biniazan provided excellent legal counsel and sound direction on which you can depend.
