Breit Biniazan attorneys Jeffrey Breit and Don Scott have both been recognized in Virginia Business’ 2026 Virginia 500, an annual list highlighting influential leaders from across the Commonwealth.
The Virginia 500 recognizes leaders across business, law, government, education and other fields throughout Virginia. This year’s list includes both Jeffrey Breit and Don L. Scott Jr., with each receiving recognition for a different area of his work.
Jeffrey Breit was named among Virginia Business’ 2026 Virginia 500 Living Legends, a distinction recognizing leaders whose careers have had a lasting impact in Virginia. The recognition comes after decades of representing injured people in complex, high-stakes cases.
Jeffrey Breit’s career has included serving on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the BP Deepwater Horizon litigation, where he oversaw the case against Halliburton, and representing plaintiffs in nationwide Chinese drywall litigation. More recently, Jeffrey Breit was part of the legal team representing Newport News teacher Abby Zwerner, whose case resulted in a $10 million jury verdict in November 2025.
Don L. Scott Jr. was featured in the Virginia 500’s Government & Politics category. A partner at Breit Biniazan and Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, Don L. Scott Jr. has built a career spanning both law and public service. He was first elected to the House in 2019 and became Virginia’s first Black Speaker of the House in 2024.
As Speaker, Don L. Scott Jr. has played a central role in the General Assembly, including work on criminal justice reform and negotiations over major policy and budget issues affecting the Commonwealth. His inclusion in the Virginia 500 recognizes that work and his role in Virginia government.
Jeffrey Breit and Don L. Scott Jr. have followed very different paths, but both have made their mark in Virginia. We’re proud to see two Breit Biniazan attorneys recognized in this year’s Virginia 500.
