Breit Biniazan is proud to announce that several of the firm's cases were recognized at the recent Virginia Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame event, highlighting some of the most significant verdicts and settlements achieved across Virginia.
The recognition reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to helping individuals and families facing life-changing injuries, wrongful death, abuse, and other catastrophic losses. Every case represents more than a result. Behind each one is a person whose life was permanently altered and who turned to the legal system for accountability and justice.
Among the cases recognized was the widely publicized $10 million jury verdict obtained on behalf of Newport News teacher Abby Zwerner. The verdict followed a trial arising from the January 2023 shooting at Richneck Elementary School and recognized the profound physical and emotional impact the incident had on Ms. Zwerner's life.
The firm was also recognized for a confidential $28 million personal injury settlement reached in 2025, one of the largest settlements reported in Virginia during the year.
Another notable recognition involved a $17.61 million global settlement on behalf of nine boys who were sexually abused by a church youth leader. The resolution concluded nearly nine years of litigation and helped provide accountability for the victims and their families.
Additional recognized matters included:
- A $12 million resolution involving the electrocution death of a commercial truck driver during a grain delivery.
- A $10.3 million settlement for a 90-year-old woman who suffered catastrophic injuries after a commercial truck failed to yield at an intersection.
- A $1.3 million recovery for a U.S. Army sergeant whose injuries in a motorcycle crash ended his military career.
- A $1.28 million settlement involving a construction zone collision that left a motorcyclist with severe leg injuries.
- A $1.13 million recovery for a motorcyclist who suffered multiple fractures and required extensive hospitalization and surgery.
At Breit Biniazan, we know every injury is personal. Our mission remains the same in every case: helping people regain control, find answers, and secure the resources they need to build their future.
