Maritime Case
Plaintiff fell from a ladder while aboard a naval ship observing and inspecting recent repairs as part of his job duties as a ship surveyor. He fell from a ladder and landed 30 feet below on a steel floor resulting in a closed head injury, five fractured ribs, three dislocated fingers, right shoulder injury and a dislocated left elbow that required reconstruction. Plaintiff received a jury award of $1,960,000.
